I had never heard of John Cooper Clark I'm ashamed to say until while I was watching the latest episode of the Sopranos tonight and playing at the end was a tune which really stuck in my head! Of course I had to find out what it was and to my suprise found it was a version of the famous Salford punk poet's Chickentown!! I've started to watch his videos on YouTube and not only is he a great poet, he is a great comedian too! Why are Northerners so bloody good at this kind of thing!! (Not sounding like a real patronising soft Southerner there of course!!)
